
Catherine Fabienne Dorleac who is more famous as Catherine Deneuve, was born on October 22, 1943 in Paris, France. She was born to Maurice Dorleac and Renee Deneuve who are both French actors. She is the third child among four siblings. Her sisters are Francoise, Sylvie and Danielle Dorleac. She was still a teenager when she was introduced in the on the big screen in 1957.
Catherine Deneuve speaks both Italian and French. She also knows a little English and German. Her stage fright has hindered her to perform on the stage. Catherine was one a muse to the popular brand Yves-Saint Laurent. Saint Laurent also clothed her in the films Belle de jour in 1967, Chamade, La 1968, Sirene du Mississipi, La 1969, Un Flic 1972 and The Hunger in 1983.
In 1963 Catherine Deneuve starred in Le Vice et la Vertu. Her unforgettable portrayal in the movie Les Parapluies de Cherbourg in 1964 was her breakthrough performance. She also did Demoiselles de Rochefort, Les in 1967 but the movie was not so successful. Catherine’s other movies were Roman Polanski’s Repulsion, Belle de jour and Tristana and to name a few.
